Te Arai is a wide, white-sand beach backed by a regional park, with a wave that seems made for learning. It is gentle enough to feel safe, yet consistent enough that you will actually catch waves and improve.
It is our home break, so it is where the most happens: our group surf lessons, the Wāhine Surf Sessions women's program, and plenty of school and group days. Teenagers and adults in particular love it here.
